Why "Sword of Ink"?

Why "Sword of Ink"? As I showered one evening, my brain was spinning with ideas. I was thinking about Timmy Miller's idea to start a blog for young, conservative Anabaptist writers. The more I thought about it, the more I got excited! As the water poured from the shower head, the ideas flowed.
We could pull together a team of regular columnists who take turns writing a weekly post.
We could periodically publish a "From the Elders" post written by a respected leader from our constituencies.
We could invite young ladies and older ladies to write about issues pertaining to women.
Using the comments feature, we could foster constructive discussion about the posts.
Among the different names that came to mind, "Sword of Ink" was my favorite. In Hebrews 4:12, the Word of God is referenced as a sword, and that is precisely the foundation for this blog. "Sword of Ink" portrays the sword as the instrument for writing, in place of the quill. Our desire is that the Word will be our primary instrument as we "pen" this blog.
Our goal is threesome: that God will be glorified, that the audience will be edified, and that we the writers will be pushed into deeper study of the Word.
Feel free to post questions or comments on our posts. We look forward to discussing the Word with you!
